The Pumpkin Patch Farm Shop

Alright, so if you're after proper fresh produce, forget Tesco and head to The Pumpkin Patch Farm Shop. It's technically in Ormskirk, but it's on the Southport side, so I reckon it counts. They've got a good range of stuff, and it's all grown locally. They get a cracking 4.8 stars out of 5 on Google from 48 reviews, which is a solid thumbs-up from folks who know their spuds.

It's not just pumpkins, despite the name. They do great mushrooms, obviously, being linked to Bungalow Farm Mushrooms. You'll find loads of seasonal fruit and veg too, depending on the time of year. It’s a proper farm shop, not one of those fancy places trying to be something they're not. Prices are decent, especially considering the quality.

Worth noting they're closed on Wednesdays, so don't go then, like I did once! Otherwise, they're open from 9:30am most days, closing at 5pm weekdays and Saturdays, and a bit earlier at 4pm on Sundays. Give them a ring on 07973 635111 if you're after something specific to check they have it in.

One tip: it can get a bit muddy in the car park, especially after it's been raining, so maybe don't wear your best shoes.
