Wheelwrights Shop

If you're after something a bit different, check out the Wheelwrights Shop out in Banks. It's not exactly Churchtown, but worth the short drive if you're into properly made wooden stuff. They're open weekdays from 9 to 5, so a good shout if you're off work.

They do all sorts of traditional wheelwrighting – fixing and making wooden wheels – but the shop also has smaller bits and bobs. Think cool gifts and things for the house. It's run by proper craftsmen, and you can tell. The Google reviews back it up too – they've got a 4.9 rating from 39 reviews, which is pretty solid.

Don't expect loads of modern stuff, it's more about traditional skills. They're closed weekends, which is a bit of a pain, but give them a ring on 07944 544671 if you're making a special trip to check they're open. Worth a look if you want something that'll last.

Parking's easy enough right outside, but be aware it's a proper working shop, so expect a bit of sawdust!
