Coopers Bar

Looking for a proper bar in town? Coopers, on the main drag in Southport (Merseyside, naturally!), is a solid shout. It's got a cracking 4.8 stars from 178 Google reviews, so you know it's not just me saying it's decent. It's not a mad-fancy cocktail place or anything, more of a relaxed vibe where you can actually hear yourself think.

They're closed Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is a bit of a pain, but they're open late on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. From what I can tell, it's a good spot if you fancy a pint and a chat without all the loud music you get in some places these days. I'd say the prices are average for Southport, maybe a bit more than your local boozer, but worth it for the atmosphere.
