Hamletts Sandwich Bar

Right, so Hamletts Sandwich Bar on Eastbank Street. If you're after a decent sandwich in town, it’s a solid shout. I've been a few times, and it's always good, honest grub. Nothing fancy, mind, but well-made and tasty. Google reviews reckon they're doing something right too – a 4.8 average from 31 reviews isn't bad going.

It's more of a lunchtime spot, really. They're only open weekdays, 8:30am to 2:30pm, so don’t go planning a Saturday trip. It's probably better for couples or a quick bite with a mate than a full-on family affair, just being honest. It's pretty casual inside.

They do the usual sarnies, soups, and that sort of thing. I usually go for a classic ham and cheese, but I’ve heard their specials are worth a punt. Give them a ring on 01704 514446 if you're after a large order.

Worth knowing: they get pretty busy around lunchtime, so maybe aim for a slightly earlier or later visit to avoid the rush. There's some on-street parking, but it can be tight; the car park on Tulketh Street is your best bet.
