About Skies Lounge

Right, so Skies Lounge on Lord Street – I've been a few times. It's got a decent 4.5 stars on Google from 66 reviews, which is not bad going. If you're after somewhere a bit lively later on, this is your spot. I wouldn't call it a proper local boozer, more of a cocktail bar vibe, but it's not pretentious either.

It's one of those places that gets pretty busy on a weekend. You’re smack-bang in the middle of Lord Street so it's easy enough to get to. I've never had a bad pint in there, and they do the usual cocktails and spirits. Give them a ring on 01704 545081 if you're trying to meet a group.

It's not really a quiet pint kind of place, more of a get-the-night-started type of spot. They usually have some music on, but it’s not a place for live bands. More of a DJ kind of vibe.

Word to the wise, it can get rammed on a Saturday night, so maybe get there a bit earlier if you want a table. Also, parking on Lord Street itself is a nightmare after about 6pm. Try the side streets or the car park by the Atkinson.
