Tilley's Sandwich Shop

Right, so if you're nipping about in Birkdale and need a decent sandwich, Tilley's is the shout. It's got a solid 4.9 stars on Google from 42 reviews, so it's not just me saying it's good! They do your usual sandwich shop bits – butties, soups, that kind of thing, all made fresh. It's a proper local place, not a chain, which I always prefer.

I reckon it's a good all-rounder – fine for couples grabbing lunch, and families too, though it's not massive inside, so maybe bear that in mind if you've got a few kids in tow. The vibe is just friendly and straightforward, you know? Nothing fancy, just good, honest food. They're only open till 2pm most days and even earlier on Saturday (1pm), so it's more of a lunch spot than anything else. Sadly closed on Sundays.

Word of warning: it can get busy, especially around lunchtime, so you might have to queue a bit. I’d say at the weekend, you might want to ring ahead, especially if you’re after a big order, just to be sure (01704 807140).

One last thing: Tilley's opening hours are a bit tight, so make sure you're not rocking up late in the afternoon expecting a sarnie!
