About Bishop's Walk. Halsall wildlife & Nature Area
Okay, so Bishop's Walk, near Halsall, is technically in Ormskirk, but it's right on the Southport border, so I reckon it counts. It's one of those free places that's great if you've got kids and need to burn off some energy without spending a fortune. It's not exactly landscaped gardens, mind you, but it's a decent bit of green space, perfect for a wander.
It's open 24/7, which is handy, so you can go whenever the mood strikes. Don't expect a ton of facilities, like toilets or anything, but if you're happy with a simple walk and some wildlife spotting, it's a good shout. Iβve seen a few different birds there, and the kids always like trying to spot squirrels.
It's not the sort of place you'd make a special trip to Southport for, but if you're already in the area, or live nearby, it's a solid option for a cheap and cheerful afternoon out. Just remember it can get muddy if it's been raining, so wellies are always a good idea.
