About Asda Café
Alright, so you're in town and need a quick bite that won't break the bank? Don't laugh, but the Asda Café on the Lord Street Extention is honestly a decent shout. I know, I know – it's Asda. But hear me out. Google says it's pulling in a 4.7 stars from 3 reviews, so people are clearly happy enough.
It's definitely more of a quick-stop kind of place than somewhere you'd settle in for hours. Think more "grab a cuppa and a sandwich" than "lazy afternoon with a book". And let's be honest, on a rainy Southport day (which is, well, most days), it's a perfectly dry spot to get out of the weather for a bit. Plus, it's dead easy to park, which is always a win in the town centre.
They do your standard café fare – sandwiches, jacket potatoes, that sort of thing. They do have cakes, but I wouldn't go expecting Patisserie Valerie, like. Coffee's decent enough, does the job. It's cheap and cheerful, and sometimes that's exactly what you need.
Just bear in mind it gets pretty busy around lunchtime with shoppers, so maybe aim for a slightly earlier or later visit to avoid the worst of the crowds.
