Be Free Coffee House

Right, so Be Free Coffee House... it's a little place I've been meaning to try for ages, and I finally popped in last week. It's in town, proper Southport town centre, and it's got a perfect 5.0 rating on Google from a couple of reviews. Now, two reviews isn't loads, but still – a perfect score is a perfect score, right? They do proper coffee, and I hear they usually have a decent cake selection.

It's not massive inside, so maybe not the best if you're rolling deep with a huge group, but for a quick coffee and a catch-up with a mate, or a bit of quiet time on your own, it's ideal. Plus, it's definitely one for a rainy day when you just want to get out of the drizzle for a bit. I wouldn't say it's a place for a huge lunch, more of a coffee-and-cake kind of place.

The hours are a bit limited – they're only open Tuesday to Friday, 11 'til 3, and closed weekends and Mondays. So it's not your late-night caffeine spot, but good to know if you're about during the week. Give them a ring on 01704 544419 if you want to check what cakes they've got in.
