Hoghton Lounge Bar

Need somewhere for a decent coffee and a slice of cake in town? Hoghton Lounge Bar is your shout. It's got a solid 4.6 stars on Google from 176 reviews, so it's not just me who thinks it's alright. It's slap-bang in the town centre, easy to find.

They do the usual cafe stuff – sandwiches and that – but it's the cakes that get me coming back. Proper coffee too, none of that watery rubbish. It's a good shout if you're caught in a shower and need to kill an hour, or if you just fancy a break from the shopping. It's probably better for a quick stop than a full-on lunch, mind.

Opening hours are pretty consistent: 9 'til 4 most days, then Sunday it's a slightly later start at 11 and they close up at 3. Give them a ring on 01704 512214 if you're unsure or want to book a table, or check out their website.
