Okay, so you're heading into town and need to ditch the car? This one's handy if you're nipping to the Post Office on Guildford Road in Birkdale Village. The big plus is it's totally free, which is always a win in my book, especially with Southport's parking charges these days!

Just be warned – it's not massive, so it can get pretty rammed, particularly around lunchtime and on Saturdays when everyone's doing their errands. If you're planning on a longer stay in Birkdale, you might struggle to get a space. But for a quick stop, it's ideal.

It's right next to the shops, so you can easily grab a paper, post a letter, or pop into the local bakery without having to trek miles. Plus, you're right in the heart of Birkdale Village, which is a nice little spot in itself.

One thing to remember: because it's linked to the Post Office, keep an eye on any time restrictions they might have for customers using the car park. Best to check the signs when you arrive to avoid any nasty surprises.
