βœ“ FreeπŸ…ΏοΈ Car park

Alright, so you're heading to Formby Beach? Greenloons Drive car park is your shout if you want to save a few quid. It's completely free, which is always a bonus, isn't it? It's on Greenloons Drive, funnily enough, so just whack that into your sat nav. It's a decent sized car park but Formby Beach gets rammed, especially on sunny weekends or during school holidays. So get there early, like before 10am if you want a space without circling for ages.

It’s not exactly right next to the beach, mind. It’s more of a 10-15 minute walk through the woods to get to the dunes. Which is lovely, don't get me wrong, but if you've got little kids or loads of gear, just factor that in. There are other car parks closer but they'll usually charge you. This one's a good bet if you don't mind a bit of a stroll.

It's a real basic car park. Just a gravel surface, no toilets or anything fancy. But hey, it's free! And it's a good starting point for exploring the Formby dunes and the red squirrel reserve. Just be aware of the tide times before you go wandering off for too long. You don't want to get caught out.

One last thing: Greenloons Drive can get a bit muddy after it's been raining, so maybe don't wear your best shoes.
