Alright, so you're heading to Formby and need to park the car? St Lukes Church Road is your best bet for free parking, which is always a win, isn't it? It's right on St Lukes Church Road (obviously!), so easy to find. It's handy for the National Trust reserve and the beach, probably a 15-20 minute walk to the good bits of the beach.

Now, it's not exactly a secret spot, so it can get pretty busy, especially on weekends and sunny days. I’ve seen it packed solid a few times which is why it only gets a 3.0 rating from one review on Google. But hey, free is free, right? And there aren't loads of alternatives nearby unless you want to chance your arm parking on the road.

It's just a basic car park, nothing fancy – no toilets or anything like that. It's open 24/7, which is useful if you're planning on sticking around for sunset.

Just a heads up: get there early if you want a space, especially during school holidays. And maybe bring a picnic blanket, because you might have a bit of a walk to the beach once you've parked!
