Now, it can get pretty busy, especially on weekends and during events like the Flower Show. If you’re aiming for a Saturday afternoon in summer, get there early to snag a spot. Otherwise, you might be circling for a while and end up more stressed than when you started.

From Birkdale station, it’s only a few minutes on the train into Southport town centre. Merseyrail runs a frequent service, so you won’t be waiting long. It dumps you right at Southport station, which is perfect for Lord Street, the shops, and the pier.

Just a heads up: keep an eye on the train times for your return, especially if you're out late. You don’t want to miss the last train and have to shell out for a taxi back to Birkdale.
