Lansdowne Bistro

Lansdowne Bistro on Hoghton Street is a solid choice if you're after a nice meal out in town. It's got a really good reputation, with a 4.8 star rating from nearly 200 Google reviews, which is always a good sign. It's not the cheapest place, somewhere in the ££ range, but you get what you pay for.

The menu is modern British Bistro fare, so think along the lines of steaks, fish, and some interesting pasta dishes. It's got a relaxed but smart atmosphere, so I reckon it would suit couples looking for a date night, but families would feel comfortable enough too.

They're only open evenings from Tuesday to Saturday, so don't go trying to get Sunday lunch there – you'll be disappointed! They open at 5:30pm each night, and close a bit later on Friday and Saturday at 11pm.
