The Shamraat

Alright, so you're after a decent Indian? The Shamraat on Lord Street is a solid shout. It gets a 4.6 out of 5 on Google from over 400 reviews, which is always a good sign, isn't it? It's not the cheapest – I'd say it's a mid-range sort of place, price-wise – but the food is consistently good.

It's got a classic Indian restaurant vibe – you know, comfortable without being too fancy. I reckon it's good for both families and couples. They do all the usual dishes you'd expect, plus a few chef's specials if you're feeling adventurous. I've never had a bad meal there, and the service is always friendly. It's open every night, but they start a bit later on Fridays and Saturdays, around quarter to five.
