Trattoria 51

Right, so if you're after a decent Italian slap-up meal in town, Trattoria 51 on the Promenade is a solid shout. It's got a proper buzz about it, not too stuffy, and the food is always spot on. We're talking classic Italian stuff – pizzas, pastas, that kind of thing – and they do it well. Google reviews put them at 4.5 stars from over 500 reviews, which is a good sign, isn't it?

It's smart enough for a date night, but I reckon families would feel comfortable there too. They've got outdoor seating which is great in the summer, and I'm pretty sure they're dog-friendly out there too. It's right on the seafront so easy to find. The walls are covered in photos of Italy, which is a nice touch.
