Volare

Volare is my go-to when I need a decent pizza and can't be bothered cooking. It's right on Lord Street in Southport town centre, so dead easy to get to. They do other Italian bits and bobs too, but the pizzas are the main reason I go. They reckon they use proper Italian ingredients alongside local stuff, and you can tell the difference. The Google reviews don't lie either—4.7 stars from over 880 people isn't bad going.

It's a good spot for both families and couples, I reckon. It's not super fancy, but it's a step up from your average chain restaurant. It's got a relaxed atmosphere, not too loud, and the staff are usually pretty friendly.

They're open most days from 9:30 AM until late, but they’re closed on Tuesdays which is a bit of a pain. The price is what I'd call mid-range – you’re looking at around ££, so not the cheapest, but not going to break the bank either.

Worth booking ahead if you're planning on going on a Friday or Saturday night, especially if you're a bigger group. Give them a ring on 01704 546232 to be sure.
