Right, so Age UK on Lord Street... I pop in here now and then. You know what you're getting: it's a charity shop, plain and simple. They've got a decent selection of donated clothes, books, and bits and bobs. You can find some proper bargains if you're willing to have a good rummage. And the money goes to a good cause, supporting older people, so you don't feel so bad about treating yourself.

It's not exactly a curated vintage experience, mind. Things can be a bit hit-and-miss, and sometimes the stock smells a bit musty, if I'm honest. But they keep the place tidy enough, and the volunteers are always friendly. Google reviews give them a 3.8 out of 5, based on 11 reviews, which sounds about right to me. It's a solid, dependable charity shop.

They're open seven days a week, which is handy. Monday to Saturday it's 9 'til 5, and then Sunday they open a bit later, 10 'til 4. So if you're on Lord Street doing your shopping, it's easy to nip in for a quick browse.

Just a heads up: parking on Lord Street can be a nightmare, so you're best off using one of the car parks further back from the main road.
