Need something a bit different for your pet? Animal Barn on Chapel Street is worth a look. It's got a perfect 5-star rating from 14 reviews, so people seem pretty happy. It's not your massive chain store, which is a good thing in my book. They stock more unusual stuff, especially for dogs and cats but also smaller pets, from what I've seen.

They're open Tuesday to Friday, 9 'til 5. Saturday's a shorter day, 11 to 3. Closed Sundays and Mondays, so don't get caught out. Give them a ring on 01704 865044 if you're after something specific.

It's in the town centre, so parking can be a pain during the week. You might be better off parking in one of the bigger car parks near the train station and walking down.
